A lover at the presence of his beloved was recounting his services and works, saying: For your sake I did such and such…in that struggle, I suffered those arrows and spears…I lost my wealth…I lost my name…I lost my power…because of your love, I went under many misfortune…” The Beloved replied, “Listen well and understand! You did all that…but, all you did is secondary! You did not do what is the root of root of Love and Faithfulness!” The lover asked, “What is that root?” The Beloved replied, “ It is to become nothing and to be naught…you did many things, but, you are still alive!…Become naught, if you are a self-sacrificing friend!
